About Us
The original business was established at Aberaeron in 1966 under the name of the founders A S Thomas & Sons. Today the business is under the control of Huw Thomas and Nest Evans (grandson and granddaughter of the founder).
In 1975 the company opened a small branch at Pensarn, Carmarthen. By 1978 we had outgrown these premises and moved to Abergwili Road. We relocated to our present address in 1997. The General Manager, Daniel Evans has decades of experience within the business.
The business specialised in quality garden machinery from the outset and rapidly gained an enviable reputation for after sales service. This remains the core of the business today and every machine offered for sale comes with the assurance that all servicing or maintenance will be carried out by our own engineers.
Today, the main franchises held are Kubota, Honda, Stihl, Viking, Husqvarna and a new name in UK garden machinery - Sanli. We are the Kubota main dealer for the old county of Dyfed (Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion).
The product range includes - Four and two wheel drive diesel tractors and out-front rotary mowers, chainsaws, brushcutters, hedgetrimmers, petrol lawn tractors and ride-on mowers, shredders & chippers, blowers and vacs, tillers, generators and other specialist equipment.

We acquired additional property at our Station Approach complex which almost doubles our floor area and allows for future expansion - all on one site. Our Station Approach properties are easy to find by road, just follow the signs for Railway/Train Station. Carmarthen Station is on the main line from Swansea to Fishguard and has good bus links to all areas. When you arrive at the station look right - and there we are.
Addition of Goupil Electric Commercial Vehicles - Distributor for Wales
To reflect the diversity of our growing business we will be creating three business units. These are MGM Garden Machinery (the original business), MGM Grounds Equipment to incorporate Kubota and other complimentary franchises, and MGM Electric Vehicles the distributor for Wales for Goupil Electric Commercial Vehicles. These will all be divisions of Compton Cymru Cyf trading as Myrddin Garden Machinery. There will be no changes at the administration level.
